Please take note that there will not be a league social this Saturday night, however, be assured that next Tuesday night after the final games of the summer season, we will have our weekly league social at Wilser’s room starting at 8:30pm with free pizza, 2-for-1 picaroons and presentations of the most spirited team of the season, the “total package” player from each team and the 2008 league champions!

Also, please keep in mind that the Fall league will start soon…stay tuned for more details.

Another Great Parlee

The sand has settled and is likely still being found in places you didn’t know were places. All signs point to another successful Parlee weekend!

We were blessed with great weather, fantastic support from the beach staff, a great party and great games including a very close and entertaining final for the coveted Parlee snowboard. Congratulations to Fried for walking away with nearly every title the tournament had!

On top of this we were able to raise $400 for KidsSport NB!!

If you have any photos (or links to external photo collections), please post them to the Parlee Facebook Group!

Thank you for making my first Parlee (as TD) an extremely memorable and enjoyable one. Looking forward to 2009 already!

A Successful Spawn Weekend!

Spawn Co-Ed Competitive Ultimate Frisbee in FrederictonSPAWN, comprised of mainly rookies and new players, rocked on Saturday going 3-1 with our only loss (13-12) going to Saper Family Reunion, who then went on to beat the number 1 seed in the tournament. We finished off the day with a 15-4 win in our cross over to put us into Sunday’s Championship bracket.

We had the good fortune (or not) of drawing Puppet Regime (New York’s #1) you always want to test yourself against the best! We lost a hard fought game 12-7 that tested our ability make Spirit of the Game a priority. We then played Crafty out of NY in another great game and lost 13-11 at the time cap.

It was 36 C both days and though teams were crashing hard SPAWN was looking strong! Our 3rd opponent of the day should have been RIP from Montreal, however after watching us play Crafty they conceded the game saying that they were down to 8-9 healthy bodies and there was no way they could give us a game based on what they had just watched. We believe we finished 11th out of 32 teams!

LIVE, BREED, DIE, SPAWN!
